Publication date 31.1.2018 16.27
Press release

As of 1 February 2018, residence permit cards will be sent to applicants in an ordinary letter. If you have submitted your application in our e-service, you can read the decision in the e-service. If you have submitted your application on paper, the decision will be mailed to you in a letter together with your residence permit card.

Keep your contact information up-to-date

If you move while your application is being processed, submit a notification of move to your Local Register Office and give your new address to the Finnish Immigration Service. You are responsible for notifying the Finnish Immigration Service of any changes to your contact details.

You can submit a notification of move at https://www.posti.fi/changeaddress/.

If your residence permit card gets lost

If your residence permit card gets lost in the mail, notify us so that the card can be cancelled and recorded as lost. If you later happen to find the lost card, it must be returned to the Finnish Immigration Service. Do not attempt to use the card under any circumstances.
