Press release

Enter Finland, the e-service of the Finnish Immigration Service, has been renewed. It is now possible for employers to submit information about the employment and the company and to pay for an employee’s application on his or her behalf.

The service is introduced on 16 June, but it will run as a trial until the beginning of July.

To start with, the service can be used by those who have the right to sign for a company or corporation.

To be sure that an employer has the right to handle matters online for his or her company, we use the authorization service on the website Suomi.fi.

Staring from July, it will also be possible for an employer to digitally authorize another person to act on his or her behalf in the e-service Enter Finland. The person in question does not need to be employed by the employer. He or she can represent a third party.

It is possible to use the e-service even if you haven’t used Enter Finland before. However, you will not see the status of previously submitted applications.

It is not possible to use the service, if the ground for the application is multiple employments or if the employer or client does not have a business identity code.

How do I use Enter Finland for Employer?

1. If you are an employee:

  • Ask your employer if he or she uses the e-service Enter Finland for Employer.
  • Mention on your application that your employer uses the e-service Enter Finland for Employer. Doing this, you give your consent to sharing details of your application with your employer.
  • If your employer does not pay the processing fee on your behalf, you need to pay it yourself when submitting your application or, at the latest, when you visit a mission or a service point of the Finnish Immigration Service to prove your identity.
  • Keep an eye on the status of your application in the e-service. In the e-service, you can find out if your employer has been asked for supplementary information and if he or she has answered the request.

2. If you are an employer or the Finnish representative of an employer abroad:

  • Create an account as an employer in the e-service Enter Finland.
  • You can pay for the application on behalf of your employee.
  • You submit part of the attachments to the application on behalf of your employee. You do not need to send these attachments to your employee.
  • You can see the status of the application in the e-service and no longer need to queue in our telephone service.
  • You will be informed of the decision made by the Finnish Immigration Service and the partial decision made by the Employment and Economic Development Office, if the application in question is a residence permit application for an employed person that issued after a labour market test.
  • If you employ a third-country national, you can submit an employee information form as required by the Aliens Act.

Enter Finland for Employer is financed by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund of the European Union.
