Press release

The e-service Enter Finland will be closed from 29 December 2016 until 2 January 2017 due to updates.

The exact times for when the service break will begin and end will be found on the front page of Migri.fi and Enter Finland.

If you need to submit an application or send in additional documents to complete your application, you should do this before the service break.

Enter Finland is being updated because the permit matters previously handled by the police, such as extended permits and registration of the right of residence of EU citizen, will be transferred to the Finnish Immigration Service from 1 January 2017.

Possible break in credit card payment

At the moment, it is not possible to pay using credit card for permit matters handled by the police. When the permits are transferred to the Finnish Immigration Service, our wish is for it to be possible to also pay for these permits by credit card.

Due to the transfer, there might be an interruption in the credit card payment in Enter Finland for a period of time during the beginning of the year. If payment by credit card is not possible, you can pay for the application using Finnish internet bank codes.

We are at present trying to find a way to make credit card payment possible already from the beginning of the year. We will publish more information about the possible break at a separate time, so please keep an eye on our website.

If you are applying for a first residence permit, you can also pay the processing fee when you visit one of our service points to prove your identity.

If you are applying for citizenship, you have to pay for your application in Enter Finland.
