Slower service at the beginning of the year, we ask our customers to be patient

At the beginning of the year, permit matters for foreign nationals were transferred from the police to the Finnish Immigration Service. The transfer is extensive and our customer service or website is not able to answer all the questions about our new services right at the beginning of the year. Because of the transfer, you may not be able to take care of your matter as fast or easy as you wish at the beginning of 2017.

We are asking our customers to be patient during this transitional period.

We are taking the challenges brought on by the transfer seriously and are solving the problems as fast as we can. We will inform you about the changes and give you instructions on our website, so please regularly check migri.fi.

Service points and customer service expected to be busy

Our new service points open on 4 January 2017. To take care of your matter, book an appointment beforehand in our online appointment system and fill in your application before you visit our service point. You cannot fill in the application at the desk of the service point, because your appointment is not long enough for this. In January, the appointment system will have new appointment times for the spring.

If you do not book an appointment beforehand, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to take care of your matter during the same day. The service point in Helsinki in particular is expected to be busy.

Our telephone service is also expected to be busy. The busiest time is in the mornings between 9 and 12. If you are not able to reach us then, please call again in the afternoon between 12 and 15. Days at the beginning of the week are busier than days at the end of the week.

Our telephone service will not be able to answer all questions about our new services right at the beginning of the year. If you have any questions, please always check our website first for the information you are looking for.

Customer bulletin
