The Finnish Immigration Service now has a new visual appearance – ”We are no longer the same agency we were ten or five years ago”
The visual appearance of the Finnish Immigration Service has been renewed. The new, modern style and logo convey a picture of an agency that keeps up with the times. In the logo, the name of the Finnish Immigration Service is clearly shown in three languages.
"Every organisation occasionally reaches a phase when it also wants to show to outsiders that it has undergone a reform. The Finnish Immigration Service has now reached this phase. Its old wing logo has been good and effective for more than a decade, but now, as the agency has vastly expanded in terms of its duties and number of employees, it is the right time to adopt a new, fresh look," says Klaus Kaartinen, Director of Communications at the Finnish Immigration Service.
The previous look was adopted in 2008 when the name of the Directorate of Immigration was changed to the Finnish Immigration Service. At that point, the agency had about two hundred employees, and the working methods, operating environment and customer numbers were different from what they are now. Today, the Finnish Immigration Service has more than 1,000 employees. The competence available in the agency has increased enormously during the years, and more resources are now assigned to customer service than ever before.
The Finnish Immigration Service designed its new visual appearance together with the SST advertising agency.
The design work set out from the Finnish Immigration Service’s vision "From immigration to citizenship – building a vital, safe Finland". On its part, the new visual appearance also improves the availability of online materials, when colours and other necessary elements have been designed with a focus on availability. Wishes and feedback provided by our employees have also been listened to from start to finish in the design work.
