Family members of Ingrian Finns must have sufficient means of support

The remigration of Ingrian Finns that started in the beginning of the 1990s ended on 1 July 2016. Today, Ingrian Finns are granted a residence permit on the same grounds as other applicants.

The spouse of an Ingrian Finn returnee must have sufficient means of support

A family member of an Ingrian Finn can be granted a residence permit only if he or she has sufficient means of support in Finland.

If your spouse has submitted an application for a residence permit after 1 July 2016, he or she must work in Finland or have some other form of income.

Ingrian evacuees and Finnish citizens are not required to have sufficient means of support

Ingrian evacuees can still apply for a residence permit on the basis of remigration. Ingrian evacuees or their family members are not required to have sufficient means of support.

Ingrian evacuees are Ingrians who were evacuated to Finland during the Second World War and later were returned to the Soviet Union.
