Changes to the processing fees of the Finnish Immigration Service as of 1 January 2025
There will be changes to some of the Finnish Immigration Service’s processing fees on 1 January 2025. The processing fees are based on a decree by the Ministry of the Interior.
Applying online is quick and affordable
We recommend applying online through the Enter Finland service. Online applications are cheaper than paper applications in almost all cases. Enter Finland is also the fastest way to apply. On your Enter Finland account, you can track the processing of your application and add more information quickly and easily.
New, higher processing fees for various residence permit applications
The processing fees will be increased to reflect the costs of processing. Applying for international protection is free of charge.
Examples of price changes
-
Previously, the residence permit card on the basis of temporary protection was free of charge. Moving forward, the card will be subject to a charge. The processing fee for an online application for a card on the basis of temporary protection is EUR 20, and for a paper application, EUR 40.
-
The processing fee for an online application for a permanent residence permit will be increased to EUR 240. The previous price was EUR 220. The price of a paper application for a permanent residence permit will be increased to EUR 350. The previous price was EUR 270.
If your application is submitted by 31 December 2024, you will pay the processing fee applicable in 2024.
See all processing fees on the Processing fees and payment methods page. The new processing fees will be updated on the page on Wednesday, 1 January 2025.
