Legislative projects
This page contains links to the lists of ongoing legislative projects of Ministries regarding immigration legislation. The projects are listed on the legislative project pages of the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, and the Government.
The purpose of a legislative project may be to change or amend existing legislation or prepare new legislation. Whenever any amendments or new statutes are enacted, the Finnish Immigration Service will observe and follow them.
The responsibility for legislative projects rests with the Ministries. If you have questions about a project, please contact the relevant Ministry.
Legislative projects involve several stages. Legislative bills are prepared by the Ministries, and a draft bill is circulated to stakeholders for comments and submitted to the Parliament for consideration.
