Student: follow the processing queue on our website or in Enter Finland

14.5.2021 11.42
Press release

We publish a weekly update on the processing queue for applications for a residence permit for studies.

You can follow the processing of your application also with the help of our chatbot Kamu. Kamu can check the status of your application among all other applications with the same type of matter and processing grounds. For more information, see the page migri.fi/chat1.

If you are applying for a first residence permit for studies and you are outside Finland

We cannot start processing an application submitted in the online service Enter Finland before you have visited a Finnish mission (embassy or consulate) to prove your identity. You can follow the current situation of the Finnish missions on the following websites of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs: um.fi and finlandabroad.fi.

If you are applying for an extended permit for studies

Start using strong electronic identification in the online service Enter Finland. When you are using strong identification,

  • you do not necessarily need to visit a service point;
  • Enter Finland will tell you whether you need to book an appointment for proving your identity at a service point or not.

Read more about strong electronic identification on the web page migri.fi/en/identification. We recommend that you use strong identification.
