In the fast track service, an employee can receive a residence permit within 14 days and arrive in Finland as soon as the permit has been issued.
When using the fast track service, an applicant may receive the decision on their residence permit application within two weeks if they are coming to Finland to work
- as a specialist
- as a startup entrepreneur
- with an EU Blue Card
- as a specialist or manager with an ICT residence permit
- in top or middle management.
The applicant's spouse and children may also apply for a residence permit using the fast track service if they submit their applications at the same time as the main applicant. Read more about the fast track service for a family member.
In order for the application to be processed in the fast track service, the applicant must:
- fill in the application and attach the required documents to it in Enter Finland
- pay for the application in Enter Finland, and
- identify themselves, in other words prove their identity, within five working days of submitting the application.
The employer must fill in the terms of employment for their employee’s residence permit application in Enter Finland within two working days after the employee has submitted their application.
The applicant can only use the fast track service to apply for their first residence permit, not an extended permit. If the applicant is already in Finland, they cannot use the fast track service.
