Backlog of applications is being cleared, service number undermanned

The Finnish Immigration Service is clearing the backlog of residence permit applications on the basis of family ties. The project started at the beginning of October and will last until the end of December. The staff is concentrating on making decisions in order to shorten the processing times of applications.

For this reason we must compromise over the extent of our customer service. The service number for family members is undermanned which will cause congestion in the service.

Please note that repeated phone inquiries do not speed up the processing of your application. If we need further information regarding your application, we will contact you. For further information about extended residence permits, please contact the local police.
