Asylum seeker: your asylum interview will take place by the end of October
Many asylum seekers who came to Finland during the autumn of 2015 have had to wait a long time for their asylum interview. However, the end of the queue is now in sight. All asylum seekers who came to Finland last year will have their asylum interview by the end of October, with the exception of a few individual cases.
The staff at the reception centre will inform you when and where the interview will take place. Prepare yourself carefully for the interview and bring with you all documents that may affect the processing of your matter.
Decision by the end of the year
After the interview, you will still have to wait for your decision. If you came to Finland during 2015, we will try to make a decision on your application by the end of this year.
Although it has been months since your interview and you still have not received your decision, we ask you to please wait patiently. We understand that waiting is trying. We are working hard so everyone will receive their decision as soon as possible.
