If you want to appeal your asylum decision, you must act faster than before. At the beginning of September, an act comes into effect according to which

  • you have to appeal to the Administrative Court within 21 days from the date that you were informed of the decision.
  • you have to apply for a leave to appeal to the Supreme Administrative Court within 14 days from the date that you were informed of the Administrative Court’s decision.

You should also take into account that the Administrative Court can give you a time limit during which you have to submit all possible additional documents to the Administrative Court. If the additional documents are filed too late, the Administrative Court may decide not to consider them.

In addition to international protection, the shorter appeal period also applies to other residence permits which you can apply for in connection with the application for international protection.

From now on, an appeal will always be considered urgent

In addition to the shorter appeal periods, asylum matters will from now on always be considered urgent at the Administrative Court and the Supreme Administrative Court.

The aim is to streamline and expedite the processing of the appeals and make the courts operate more efficiently.
