Changes in the processing fees of the Finnish Immigration Service in 2020

As of 1 January 2020, the processing fees of the Finnish Immigration Service will increase. For example:

  • As of January, an online application for a residence permit for an employed person or an entrepreneur will cost 490 euros. The processing fee for a paper application will be 640 euros.
  • As of January, an online application for Finnish citizenship will cost 420 euros. The processing fee for a paper application will be 520 euros.
  • Determination of citizenship status will cost 100 euros.

We recommend that you apply in the online service Enter Finland whenever possible. By applying online, you can save time and money compared with applying on paper. You can follow the processing of your application on your Enter Finland account.

Remember to cancel your appointment

If you cannot attend an appointment at our service point, remember to cancel your appointment. An unattended appointment that has not been cancelled will cost you 50 euros.

You can change or cancel your booking in our appointment system.

The fees charged by the Finnish Immigration Service are laid down in a decree issued by the Ministry of the Interior. The fees will be raised to bring them closer to the processing costs.
