Raimo Pyysalo appointed as Deputy Director of the Finnish Immigration Service
Raimo Pyysalo has been appointed as Deputy Director of the Finnish Immigration Service. He transfers immediately to the Finnish Immigration Service from the position of Commander at the Coastal Brigade of the Finnish Defence Forces.
The Deputy Director will deputise directly for Director General Jaana Vuorio. The fixed-term post is new and filled until the end of 2018. It was created due to the recent rapid increase in the number of asylum seekers and the need to add reception capacity.
Among other responsibilities, the Deputy Director is in charge of the agency’s operational and financial planning, leads preparedness planning and coordinates national and international cooperation.
In total, 32 candidates applied for the post.
