According to the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, reception activities relating to residence permit applications have been gradually resumed in the Finnish missions as of 16 June 2020. Some of the missions can already serve residence permit customers fairly comprehensively, some can do so on a limited basis, and some missions can start to receive residence permit applications only later.
This is what you should do if you want to ask whether your Finnish mission is receiving residence permit applications:
- Send an inquiry by e-mail to the address visas.mfa@formin.fi, or call the switchboard of the Prime Minister’s Office at +358 295 16001 to ask about the situation at your Finnish mission.
If your Finnish mission is receiving residence permit applications,
- you should book an appointment at the mission for proving your or identity or for submitting your residence permit application. You will find the contact details of your mission on the website finlandabroad.fi.
According to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, priority will be given to customers who have booked an appointment but whose appointment had to be cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
