An electronic application is now more affordable than an application on paper
The processing fees of the Finnish Immigration Service changed on 1 January 2014. Applications submitted electronically are now more affordable than traditional paper applications.
The new processing fees correspond better to the costs arising from the processing of applications than before. An electronic application speeds up the processing of the application because electronic applications are transferred directly, online, to the Finnish Immigration Service, so there is no need to send applications and appendices by letter. Electronic transactions also make it easier to file documents.
In the electronic service, you can submit your application flexibly, whenever it suits you. You can supplement your application by yourself and monitor the progress of your application. Also, notification of a decision may be served by electronic means.
