Service points of the Finnish Immigration Service are closed on 5–7 September 2023

Publication date 31.8.2023 10.12
Press release

All service points of the Finnish Immigration Service are closed between Tuesday 5 September and Thursday 7 September due to staff training. The Finnish Immigration Service’s service desk at International House Helsinki will also be closed. When the service points are closed, our waiting number service will also be closed. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Is your residence permit or travel document expiring on 5–7 September 2023?

You can submit your residence permit application online in Enter Finland and prove your identity at a service point later. You can book an appointment for your visit or take a waiting number at the service point.
You cannot apply for an alien’s passport or a refugee travel document online. Visit a service point before your travel document expires. Book an appointment or take a waiting number at the service point.

Are you applying for an extended permit? If you prove your identity online, you might not need to visit a service point

If you apply for an extended permit in the online service Enter Finland and use strong identification (online banking credentials, citizen certificate or mobile certificate) to log in, visiting a service point is not always required. After you have submitted your application, Enter Finland will tell you whether you need to visit a service point or not.
