Customers who can apply for a residence permit using the fast-track service may be granted a permit in 14 days. If you use the fast-track service, you can move to Finland as soon as you have received a positive decision on your residence permit application and will receive your residence permit card in Finland.

If you need a visa to travel to Finland without a residence permit card, you can apply for a D visa at the same time as you apply for the residence permit.

Starting from 22 December 2022, you can use the fast-track service if you apply for one of the following residence permits:

Your spouse and children can also fast-track their residence permit applications if they apply at the same time as you.

The fast-track service is only available for first residence permits, not for extended permits. If are in Finland already, you cannot fast-track your application.

Do this if you are a manager and want to fast-track your application:

  1. Log in to Enter Finland and fill in the right residence permit application. Pay the processing fee before you submit the application.
  2. Book an appointment for proving your identity. You must visit the relevant service point to prove your identity within five working days of submitting your application in Enter Finland.
  3. Your employer must use Enter Finland for Employers to add the terms of employment to your application within two working days after you have submitted your application in Enter Finland.
  4. If your spouse and children are applying simultaneously with you and need to fast-track their residence permit applications, your spouse must submit his or her own application within two days of the submission of your residence permit application to Enter Finland. A child’s parent or guardian must fill in the child’s application using the parent’s or guardian's own Enter Finland account after this parent or guardian has submitted his or her own application.
