Investigation related to funds on Moni cards continues

The investigation aiming to recover the funds on Moni cards continues. We will inform our customers as soon as we know more. Unfortunately, the Finnish Immigration Service is unable to return the money as it is not in our possession.

In July 2020, the Finnish Immigration Service filed an investigation request with the police concerning the funds left on Moni cards. The police are investigating the matter to determine if it involves an abuse or an offence. 

In addition to the police investigation, the Finnish Immigration Service is actively looking into this matter to ensure that everyone’s money on the Moni cards can be recovered.

If you are a client of a reception centre

The reception centre will tell you how to ask for the return of your money on the Moni card.  The reception centre is not responsible for the funds on the Moni cards or liable to pay compensation for them.
