Via RSS, you will receive notification of new bulletins
You can keep up to date with Finnish Immigration Service bulletins via RSS feeds. With the RSS service, you will be informed via your browser or RSS Reader whenever we publish a new bulletin on our web pages, without having to visit our website. You can select the bulletins that interest you, such as those on application queues.
You can subscribe to RSS feeds on
- press releases,
- customer bulletins,
- processing times
- exception info on exceptional arrangements, such as exceptional service hours.
To read RSS feeds, you need a browser or RSS Reader
To use the RSS service, you need a separate RSS Reader or an RSS-compatible browser.
Generally used browsers:
- When using e.g. Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer 7, you will not need a separate RSS Reader, but can access RSS feeds by clicking on the orange RSS icon.
- When using the Opera browser, the RSS service appears on the address bar as an RSS icon, which can be clicked to subscribe to an RSS feed list.
For other browsers we recommend a separate RSS Reader. RSS Readers are available free-of-charge online. These include RssReader, FeedReader and SharpReader. When using an RSS Reader, you must define the URL of the feed you are accessing. URLs for Finnish Immigration Service RSS feeds can be found at www.migri.fi/en/rss.
Subscribe for an RSS feed using the icon
You can subscribe to RSS feeds from pages on which you see an RSS icon.
Subscribe to a feed as follows when using the most common browsers:
- Click on the RSS icon on the upper edge of the browser window.
- If more than one feed appears on the same page, select and click on the feed you want from the pull-down menu next to the icon.
- The page that opens will advise you on how to subscribe to a feed. This is usually done by clicking the ‘Subscribe to this feed’ button.
You can also subscribe to a feed by clicking the RSS icon on the content page.
For example, feeds subscribed to on Internet Explorer are listed on one of the tabs under 'Favourites.' When a new bulletin arrives for the feed, the feed's heading turns bold. Click on the heading to read the bulletin.
