Updates in estimated processing times

Some of the estimated processing times shown at Migri.fi were updated on 2–3 August 2021.
The updates were made in the chatbot Kamu, in the Processing Time Checker and on the pages containing information about specific applications.
Changes were made in the estimated processing times for the following application types:
- Work requiring a partial decision (TTOL)
- The new estimated processing time for paper and online applications is 3 months. Before the update, the estimated processing time was 3–8 months. The estimate has changed, because the agency has gotten more resources for processing applications and the processing procedures have been improved.
- Work requiring a partial decision (TTOL), extended permit
- The new estimated processing time for paper and online applications is 3 months. Before the update, the estimated processing time was 3–4 months. The estimate has changed, because the agency has gotten more resources for processing applications and the processing procedures have been improved.
- Residence permit application for internship
- The new estimated processing time for paper and online applications is 1–2 months. Before the update, the estimated processing time was 2–3 months. The estimate has changed because the processing situation has improved.
- Extended permit for internship
- The new estimated processing time for online applications is 2–3 months. Before the update, the estimated processing time was 4 months. The estimate has changed because the processing situation has improved.
- Citizenship declaration by former Finnish citizen
- The new estimated processing time for paper and online applications is 3 months. Before the update, the estimated processing time was 1 month. The estimate has changed because of a temporary backlog in processing.
- First residence permit application for former Finnish citizen
- The new estimated processing time is 8–11 months. Before the update, the estimated processing time was 2–10 months. The estimate has changed because of a temporary backlog in processing.
- Application for an extended permit for former Finnish citizen
- The new estimated processing time is 3–8 months. Before the update, the estimated processing time was 3–4 months. The estimate has changed because of a temporary backlog in processing.
