Finnish Immigration Service rectified its procurement decisions concerning reception centres

Press release

The Finnish Immigration Service has rectified the procurement decisions it made in March concerning new reception centres. The decisions concern reception operations in eight geographical areas.

The Finnish Immigration Service issued a press release on the completed tendering process on 25 March 2024.

The Finnish Immigration Service has now made new procurement decisions, as the agency became aware of issues that affected the procurement decisions after the decisions had been made. According to the Finnish Immigration Service, attempts to evade the restriction on related parties, which was included in the call for tenders, were made in the tendering process, and all tenderers did not submit their tenders independently of each other.

The Finnish Immigration Service has informed the tenderers of the new procurement decisions, and the appeal period for the decisions ends on 8 May 2024. The reception centres that are to be opened as a result of the tendering process will start operating on 1 July 2024. The rectified decisions conclude the competitive tendering for reception centre capacity which was initiated in 2022.
