Please use Enter Finland or our Securemail service to send any additional information for your application
If you have submitted an application and need to send us additional information or documents, we recommend that you use the online service Enter Finland whenever possible. If you cannot use Enter Finland for some reason, you should use the Finnish Immigration Service's Securemail service, which is intended for sending encrypted emails.
If you have submitted your application online in Enter Finland and wish to supplement it, send any additional information and documents via Enter Finland. Messages sent via Enter Finland will be delivered swiftly, reliably and securely to us.
In Enter Finland, you can follow the progress of your application. You will also receive a message in Enter Finland when a decision has been made.
Submitting additional information and documents in Enter Finland
If you have received a request for additional information:
- On the start page of Enter Finland, select ‘My applications’ and ‘Read the request’.
- Select ‘Reply to the request’.
- Write your message and attach documents if you need to.
- Click ‘Send’.
If you wish to supplement your application but have not received a request for additional information:
- On the start page of Enter Finland, select ‘Send additional information’. Select the application that you wish to supplement.
- Write your message and attach documents if you need to.
- Click ‘Send’.
Use the Securemail service when you send us email
If you need to email us, please use the Finnish Immigration Service’s Securemail service (securemail.migri.fi). Messages sent via the service will reach us reliably and securely.

If you do not use the Finnish Immigration Service’s Securemail service, your message may be flagged as spam by the spam filters. If that happens, we will not get your email. We have found that emails sent from cloud-based email services are not reliably delivered to us. Cloud-based email services include, among other service providers, Gmail and Microsoft365. If you choose to email us without using the Securemail service, you will get an automatic delivery receipt if we have received your message.
Please do not use other email encryption services. We cannot open messages that have been encrypted by using other services than the Finnish Immigration Service’s Securemail service. If you use other email encryption services, your email does not reach us.
Under law, you are responsible for making sure that your email arrives in the Finnish Immigration Service.
Please note that there may be delays in reading and replying to emails. Please send your message only once. This will speed up the processing of messages. We process emails in the order that they arrive.
