Employers have a key role in their employees’ residence permit applications based on work

Since 23 February 2023, employers have had the obligation to fill in the terms of employment for their employees’ residence permit applications submitted on the basis of work. 

When you fill in the terms of employment for your employee’s residence permit application, you will also assure that 

• you have met your obligations as an employer 
• you have ensured that your employee has the professional ability required for the job
• the terms of employment comply with Finnish legislation and collective agreements. 

Filling in the terms of employment for your employee’s residence permit application is very important. The application cannot be processed before the terms of employment have been filled in.

Fill in the terms of employment easily in Enter Finland for Employers

You can fill in the terms of employment online in Enter Finland for Employers as soon as your employee has sent his or her application using Enter Finland. Processing an application becomes smoother and faster when both you and your employee use Enter Finland. 

If you cannot use Enter Finland, fill in the paper form ‘Terms of employment’. Give the form and possible attachments to your employee who then attaches them to his or her application.
