Finnish Immigration Service receives EU support for staff costs

Operational support will be provided to three projects promoting asylum investigations, the residence permit process and voluntary return and reintegration.

The European Union Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) has granted the Finnish Immigration Service operational support for personnel costs. With this support, the Finnish Immigration Service strengthens and develops a common approach to the asylum procedure and immigration, and supports the integration and inclusion of third-country nationals. 

Flexible asylum procedure

The European Union Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) has granted the Finnish Immigration Service operational support for personnel costs. With this support, the Finnish Immigration Service strengthens and develops a common approach to the asylum procedure and immigration, and supports the integration and inclusion of third-country nationals. 

Efficient Residence Permit Processes

With efficient residence permit processes, the permit and citizenship unit of the Finnish Immigration Service promotes a vibrant national immigration policy. With the help of operational support, the unit ensures that the permit processes run smoothly when processing work- and training-based and family members' residence permit applications by ensuring that personnel with diverse experience of different customers work with the permit processes.

Voluntary return and reintegration

With the operational support of voluntary return and reintegration, the reception unit of the Finnish Immigration Service organises return counselling for asylum seekers who have remained in Finland without a residence permit, supports and guides the reception centres in the implementation of return counselling and arrangements, and trains the staff of the reception centres. In addition, the Finnish Immigration Service participates in EU voluntary return activities and international projects.
