Lappeenranta office of the Finnish Immigration Service to move to the government office building in June

The Lappeenranta office will relocate to Pormestarinkatu 1 in the centre of Lappeenranta. The new office will be located in a government office building housing the offices of various other authorities as well.

Due to the relocation, the customer service and asylum interviews of the service point will be unavailable for a short time during the move. The new office will open on Monday, 20 June 2022.

Service point closed from 9 to 17 June 2022 due to relocation

From 20 June, the customer service of the Lappeenranta service point will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The service point will be closed on Thursdays. Check the opening hours for queuing for services with a waiting number instead of booking an appointment on the Service Points page.

• When booking an appointment for the new Lappeenranta office, please select the name ‘Lappeenranta service point’ in our reservation system. The current service point that will be closed can be found in the reservation system under the name ‘Lappeenranta service point, Valtakatu’. 

At the service point, you can, for example:

• submit an application for a residence permit, EU registration, citizenship or a travel document
• authenticate your identity.

If you are living in the Lappeenranta region and your permit or travel document will expire between 9 and 19 June 2022,

you can submit your new application 

• in our Enter Finland online service or
• by sending an e-mail to hakemukset(a)migri.fi. We will send you instructions in a reply message.

Asylum interviews and notifications of asylum decisions paused between 13 and 26 June 2022

Asylum interviews and notifications will be organised in Pormestarinkatu from 27 June 2022.

Check the address in the invitation to the asylum interview or the notification event.

Great public transport connections to Lappeenranta 

Lappeenranta is easy to reach by train or bus. Pormestarinkatu also has street parking subject to a charge next to the entrance to the office. See the location of the new office on a map.
