A fee will be charged from students from outside the EU or European Economic Area (EEA) studying towards degrees in languages other than Finnish or Swedish at universities of applied sciences, and other universities.

In practical terms, the tuition fees will be levied on students beginning studies in autumn 2017. The tuition fee will be EUR 1,500 at a minimum.

No tuition fees will be levied on students studying towards degrees in Finnish or Swedish, regardless of their nationality.

Further information and instructions are available from educational institutions.

The impact of tuition fees on the processing of residence permit applications for studies will be investigated in 2016, and information will be communicated in due course.
