Ingrian finn returnee - reminder about returnee training
If you are an Ingrian Finn who has registered as a returnee, you have the opportunity to participate in voluntary remigration training. The remigration training course lasts for one academic year and prepares returnees for the Finnish language examination.
Remigration training begins in September 2013. You may register for the training in person:
- At the main consulate in St. Petersburg on 27–29 August from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 30 August 2013 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
- At the main consulate in Petrozavodsk on 20–22 August from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 23 August 2013 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
Remigration training is free of charge
There is no charge for remigration training and participation is voluntary. Training is held three evenings a week. You may participate in remigration training only once. If you stop the training in the middle of the course, you may not participate again.
Sufficient skills in Finnish are one of the requirements for receiving a residence permit.
The remigration period ends in summer 2016
If you have registered for the remigration queue before 1 July 2011, you may apply for a residence permit based on remigration until 1 July 2016. In the beginning of July 2016, the remigration period will end. At this time you will no longer be able to apply for a residence permit as a returnee. Instead, you may apply through the general residence permit system.
